JOYCE GIVES BACK
Joyce has always had a deep love for animals. Sneaking in stray kittens into her room since she was a child, Joyce’s loveliest childhood memories all include animals. Along with her mother Lulu, they would often rescue abandoned animals left on the streets of Laredo and bring them home to care for them. In 2012, they founded Pet Haven of Laredo and successfully have rehomed over 1500 cats & dogs of all sizes and breeds that, through no fault of their own, ended up at Laredo’s City Kill shelter. Joyce’s mother and grandfather, a true Mexican cowboy, instilled in her the importance of caring for animals, and this is a value that she has carried with her throughout her life.
Joyce believes that every animal deserves love, care, and protection. This is why she is putting her money where her heart is and is committing to donating 5% of all Joyce & Gems profits to fund awesome rescue groups she sees doing amazing things throughout the world.
Joyce believes it is our duty to be custodians of the Earth and share some of the abundance that we get to enjoy on a daily basis. She is committed to supporting these programs and causes because she has seen first hand what a difference dedicated efforts to spay/neuter and re-home animals can make in the world.Joyce's love for animals has led her to become a strong advocate for their welfare. She believes that animals should be treated with kindness and compassion, and she works hard to promote this message. Joyce strongly feels that we all have a responsibility to protect the environment and the creatures that inhabit it.
In addition to supporting animal shelters and organizations, Joyce also strives to raise awareness about animal welfare issues. She uses her platform to promote responsible pet ownership and encourages others to adopt rather than buy pets. Joyce believes that everyone can make a difference in the lives of animals, no matter how small their contribution may seem.
